Overview

Our client was responding to an RFP put out by one of their largest customers. The goal was to replace current in-store software used by employees, managers and corporate employees. The platform needed to streamline the in-store process for custom framing orders, as well as provides dashboards of key analytic data for store managers, in-store associates and corporate users, that focuses on productivity, reduction of waste and improves accuracy for product sales. In addition to providing insight into key analytical data around sales and inventory, the platform also had to provide inventory management.

 

Process

My team began the discovery phase by conducting a Design Thinking Workshop.

User interviews, empathy mapping and persona creation made up this fast-paced, hands-on, collaborative experience that took us from basic ideas to a user- validated prototype of the product in a matter of days.

The main output of the workshop was the prototype of the software platform. We created a prototype of the MVP that would replace and streamline the in-store process for custom framing orders. In addition, we provided dashboards of key analytic data for store managers and in-store associates that focuses on productivity, reduction of waste, and more accurate data of product sales. For the corporate user, we provided a product and inventory management platform for the corporate level, that provides quick access to key sales data, custom reporting, and full product management capabilities company wide.

As part of the prototype we created a visual design system that included design specifications to illustrates fonts, color palette, layout and overall visual aesthetics into a comprehensive system and illustrates how the finished product will look.
